Wibbly Wobbly. Geoffrey's planning to make a nice big strawberry jelly for tea, and George, Zippy and Bugle can do nothing but pass the time and wait. Imagine their surprise when they accidentally tune in to WWTV, a brand new channel that features presenters who look uncannily familiar. This episode was originally broadcast on Tuesday, 23rd August, 1988.

I love it when kids' shows go all surreal, and this certainly ticks that particular box. The bizarre doppelgangers gave me a good laugh, which in turn was heightened all the more by the fact that the whole business of Wibbly Wobbly Television goes entirely unexplained. There's a nice song to wobble along to from Jilly Jelly and the Blancmanges, although using all my powers of observation I think I recognise the band as Rod, Jane and Freddy - the last of whom gets an extra credit on the end for writing the Wobert's Wonderful Wobble story which is read by Wilbur Wobble. Plenty of wobbling going on from start to finish, as you'll soon gather. Please do not adjust your set.

This one is very good fun, and I hope you enjoy it too. Geoffrey's reaction to Zippy's jelly/telly rhyme while everyone else laughs is almost worth it on its own. Look out for a little bit of Children's ITV continuity at the end, presented by Mark Granger in the pre-Scally days. I hope Nathan Levi's watching.

Many thanks to Lee for providing this recording.
