In this video, I take on a tricky DIY plumbing project to fix a smelly issue with a bidet. The problem? Every time the toilet flushes, it siphons the water out of the bidet trap, letting foul odors from the drain come through. I had some trouble removing the bidet, but once I got it off, I was shocked to discover that the previous plumber had installed a shallow trap and used a 40mm grommet adaptor on a 32mm pipe. These two mistakes were likely causing the bad smells.

After struggling with solvent weld pipes in the tight space behind the bidet, I decided to use a flexible waste connector and installed a deeper trap with an anti-siphon feature to prevent future problems. It was a bit of a challenge, but I successfully resolved the issue and got everything working perfectly for my in-laws.
