The Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal are connected by the spinning boat lift known as the Falkirk Wheel, which is located near Tamfourhill, Falkirk, in the centre of Scotland. For the first time since the 1930s, it links the two canals. As a component of the Millennium Link undertaking, it debuted in 2002.
