Today we are using the biggest Diode Laser cutter either of us have ever seen to Laser Cut a bolt of Antique Fabric into some new clothes; specifically a Laser Cut Dress for myself and some Laser Cut shorts for Michael. This is the Spider X1 Laser Cutter which had our interest for the sheer size of it. It's a much more affordable Laser Cutting option if you want a big bed size without breaking the bank. Diodes generally have much less power than CO2 lasers, so trying it out on textiles seemed like the perfect first project. I've had this bolt of antique upholstery fabric kicking around the MakerSpace for a while, waiting for the right project. This one was it!
Thanks so much for watching
-Brooke and Michael
