Pulled engine because I didn't like the hot oil pressure level and it had a really bad bog off idle. Did not seem to matter what I did to the carb it wouldn't go away. knowing these engines had a history of wiping cam bearings out and that it had sat for 20+ years before I had it. Then another 7 after I left home. it was time for it to be gone through. I knew it was already one rebuilt and only had roughly 2000 miles on it, but wasn't sure how far it was bored. To my surprise it was bored 0.030 over. the valve seats and valves were highly corroded from moisture while sitting. all 8 cylinders still had good cross hatch in them. so went with a light honing, line bore, and bearings. balanced the rotating assembly so that it would comfortably spin 8000 rpm haha but cam runs out at 5500. did the oiling modifications and zero decked it keeping the 0.030 pistons and pump gas friendly 8.71:1 comp. Due to the pandemic, part issues and machinist health issues (no fault of his own), the engine hasn't been finished yet.
