How to fix Snowmobile Bogging & Poor Acceleration: Clutches, Belt Tension, & Engine Movement

I'll show you what to look for when your snowmobile boggs off the line and has poor acceleration out of the hole! This is my cheap 1999 Arctic Cat ZR600 but the fixes shown here are applicable to all skidoo, polaris, yamahas. I use starting fluid to check the crank seals and carb boots, do a clutch inspection and verify the clutches are engaging properly, and shimmed correctly for belt width. Finding no problems, I then check the belt tension, and discover the source of my problems: A missing engine snubber! My engine snubber snapped off which resulted in my engine moving too much during initial engagement.
