Aquatic Voyages

Fast shower. Drop by drop
I close my eyes. Nothing but the noise
In my ears. I see… A ship? A board?
A motorboat? Swimming people?
And fishmen? And The Old Town[1]?
And Palace of Culture and Science[2]?
And now tree limbs in the water[3]?
Beavers on the land? Where are bridges?
This boat is quite different… And the air
Is different… Blinking… Clouds and the sea[4]
Salmon in an almond sauce? Fresh herring
On the plate? Breeze hits my face…
This pier is blurry… And the bathtub again?
Was I dreaming? Ah no! These were just
Memories of aquatic voyages


[1] The Old Town of Warsaw, Poland. The capital city based by the river Vistula.
[2] The biggest palace that you can see in the downtown of Warsaw.
[3] The other side of the river is wild in nature. This district of Warsaw is called Praga Północ (Praga-North). Also, there are many little rivers in Poland that are perfect for kayaking. They are naturally beautiful as well.
[4] Poland is placed by the Baltic Sea.
