Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan has disagreed with Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef over the potential for peace between Israel and Palestine.

In a wide-ranging and, at times confronting, interview with Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan, Mr Youssef broke down elements of the unfolding Israel-Hamas war.

Mr Morgan said he does not share Mr Youssef’s view that there can never be peace in the region.

“I think there can't be with the current leadership structures in both countries or both places,” Mr Morgan said.

“But I definitely think you've got to be optimistic about peace. You just need to find people who can forge it.”
