I loved all my cats, but Tiger was something special. She was my feline soul mate. She chose me when she was a kitten, and I was forever “her person”.

She was quite the character and had a lot of “cattitude”. If she didn’t like something, she would definitely let you know. She was playful and vocal, and probably too smart for her own good.

One day she brought home a small green ball… I have no idea where it came from. She loved to play with balls, although she liked me to knock them around for her.

She would follow me just about everywhere… like when I went in and out decorating for Christmas, she would go in and out with me. When she was older and was strictly an indoor cat, she didn’t like it when I went outside, and she would sit in the window and meow at me.

She survived an attack from a dog, possibly also a raccoon, and was injured in fights with other cats. She was tough, and definitely went through several of her “nine lives”.

As she aged, however, she began to have a lot of health problems. She continued to hold on, always being the fighter. Eventually, though, time won out. It was difficult to watch a once energetic cat slowly decline. She just wasn’t the same.

Finally it was time to say goodbye. I held her one last time as she made her journey across the rainbow bridge. I knew it couldn’t be any other way.

Looking at all these photos of her fills my eyes with tears. I miss her so much! I look forward to the day when I once again will be able to hold her in my arms, and feel her face against mine. Until then, I will hold her in my heart.

Love you forever, Tiger.
