This video mainly stands out the Making of Molds. As it is shown in our for sale videos this important process will take us to get precise covers on a car seats from zero. Car upholstery has a similarity to tailoring or shoemaking. The involved pieces should be marked and precisely cut after molding process and the gotten cover should perfectly fit onto the car seat.
We need to 'avoid guessing methods', something like 'I am going to give it more selvage or cut the pieces bigger just in case becomes shorter...'
The 'reference points' or 'V notches' are also of great importance. The 'basting' with staples ease the sewing procedure.
I have used for this sample 1/4" of an inch foam. On real car seats it is advisable the use of 1/2" of an inch for top panels and 1/4" thick foam for lateral pieces.
The use of foam on all the pieces is a kind of 'lining' which adds more
'body' to the seat cover. Besides, levels irregularities on seat surface.
I hope you find this video helpful!
