I installed this new screen on my wife's Galaxy S5. Initially we had problems with the adhesive bonding sufficiently. The screen would come loose on the edges. I tried using a heat pack to warm the screen. I tried spring clamps to press it more firmly in place. We finally decided that a new hard case would help hold the screen tightly to the frame. It is a Seido case with kickstand and it has worked great. In fact we had some trouble with the screen since and when I tried to remove the screen it was quite firmly bonded.

The trouble I spoke of is shown in the video. The problem was intermittent and nothing we did seemed to cause or correct the problem. It appeared to be a loose connection so I even removed the screen and reseated the connector. Worse was that the problem was intermittent enough that she didn't really want to take the down time to replace the screen. She would even come home from work, sit down on the couch with her phone and exclaim, "It worked all day without a problem. What the heck!" Just as I was planning to return the screen as defective, my wife told me that she noticed that when she used the camera the screen flickering would stop. Finally, a clew, something that might help troubleshoot the problem. Before dissecting the phone again I decided to see if I could reproduce the conditions. I waited hours for the flickering to start. Nothing. Then I happened to see her brightness settings were set to "Auto". A quick swipe of the slider to minimum brightness and, "A Ha!" It all makes sense now. She was using the phone in full light at work during the day, thus Auto = full brightness. In the evening, it was low light, thus Auto = low brightness. When she opens the camera app the app turns up the brightness above minimum so the flickering would stop!

I think this has something to do with the power driver in the hardware. I guess now I'll just have to wait and see what the ebay seller has to say.
