Sorry I should have tested it better but since shield counts for health in every other way in Risk of Rain 2 I assumed it would be the same for the Growth mechanic of the False Son. Honestly it is incredibly weird that it doesn't but also Gearbox go brrrr I guess. Sorry for the confusion.
