Project RIESE was the largest construction project of Germany during the second world war, almost 30,000 people worked on underground tunnels, rail lines, roads and communication. All to build infrastructure to support this huge and top secret project. Hitler took a keep interest in the project and it was taken over by the SS. War time documents eludes to being decisive for the war effort, Hans Kammler was deeply involved and yet we do not know what they were planning there.

Historian Tino Struckmann is on the ground taking us through the underground, and what is there does not bear out the mainstream narrative; that this was just a new headquarters for Hitler. Both the tunnels, their construction, documents from Albert Speer's war time archives and the buildings above the tunnels point to a very different, and darker objective.

over the next two episodes we are under ground and above ground walking through the area, trying to pair them up with the numbers and facts we do have.
