Alignment of Dolby model 363 with SR cards on a Studer A80/R part 2: audio samples.

This video is a follow-up from the video 'Alignment of Dolby model 363 with SR cards on a Studer A80/R part 1'. If you haven't watched that, please watch that video first.   • Alignment of Dolby model 363 with SR ...

In this second video I will let you hear the results from recording and playback with and without Dolby SR noise reduction on the Studer A80. The object of that is, of course, to eliminate tape hiss.

To be able to hear the tape noise, you might have to wear headphones. No earplugs, those are not headphones.
The video has been rendered with lossless audio, but YouTube will probably do its own thing, compression and stuff, so I am not sure how it will end up. The audio was captured from line level output using a good quality sound card.

For the test I will use an sample audio clip of 1 minute in length that consists of a professional spoken voice, with enough silence before the audio, in between sentences, and after the audio, for you to assess the noise level. You should be able to hear the noise, or lack thereof, when you turn up the volume.

To be clear: I will play this audio clip of one minute length 3 times in the video:

0:00 - Intro
0:24 - First time playback. The original source file, from CD.
1:24 - Second time playback from the Studer, with OR without Dolby SR, you be the judge!
2:26 - Third playback from the Studer, with OR without Dolby SR, you be the judge!
