Dutch Indo-rock impacted Singapore Pop Music in the early 1960's.
ANNEKE GRONLOH - "Bengawan Solo" (1962).

One of ANNEKE GRONLOH's most beloved Malay hits. She took a very well-known folk song and made it another one of her several signature songs.

ANNEKE GRONLOH is regarded by many to be one of the first legends of Singapore Pop Music. She inspired many of the young locally-born girls who came along later to sing and record and become stars in their own rights.

Susan Lim and The Crescendos and also The Sundowners recorded their own versions of "Bengawan Solo." There were many other versions as well.

ANNEKE GRONLOH would surely be inducted into the Singapore 60s Pop Music Hall Of Fame.
