On the 11th of September, 2001, the country would witness one of the darkest days in our history. News broadcasts across the world would show the horror as it continued to unfold throughout that morning. After the dust settled in Lower Manhattan, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, there would be nearly 3,000 lives innocent lives lost. One of those people would be a Puerto Rican woman by the name of Yvette Moreno from the Bronx. She was only 24 years old, working for brokerage firm Carr Futures on the 92nd floor of the North tower. She called her family that morning to let them know she escaped the tower, and she was coming home. She would vanish soon after, leading to a mysterious phone call, making it clear that somehow, her phone made it back to Bronx, but she didn't. This is her story. May we never forget, and may all those who lost their lives that morning forever rest in peace.
