This simple project uses common household items such as 1) vegetable oil 2) alka seltzer 3) food coloring 4) and water. Put these all in a clear container and watch as the bubbles from the alka seltzer cause the colored water to rise through the oil, creating the "lava lamp" to come to life. We recommend using a VOSS water bottle. They are the perfect size and shape.
