Crazy! Mom's fish recipe is even better than some of the ones we tried at well-known Chinese restaurants here in Jakarta! The fish was so soft but the skin was crispy from the frying - topped with the fermented black bean sauce with tofu & taro + warm bowl of rice (wow~~). Why pay when you can try the recipe at home now?

INGREDIENTS
Fish (Gourami): 255 gram
Lime juice
Salt
Tapioca starch (brand Cap Tani)
Cooking oil
Minced garlic: 1 tsp
Minced ginger: 1 tsp
Oyster sauce: 2 tbsp
Black beans (brand Amoy): 2 tbsp
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Ground pepper: 1/2 tsp
Fish sauce (brand Royal Gold): 1 tbsp
Taro (steamed)
Tofu (fried)
Tapioca starch + water (to thicken the sauce)
Coriander leaves

Jeruk nipis
Garam
Sagu (merk Cap Tani)
Minyak goreng
Bawang putih (cincang): 1 sdt
Jahe (cincang korek): 1 sdt
Saos tiram: 2 sdm
Kacang hitam (merk Amoy): 2 sdm
Gula: 1 sdm
Lada: 1/2 sdt
Kecap ikan (merk Royal Gold): 1 sdm
Talas (kukus)
Tahu (goreng)
Sagu + air (untuk mengentalkan saus)
Daun ketumbar (wansui)
