Part 2: On the Water: 2018 Daiwa SV Light LTD

Perfect blend of BFS capabilities and regular reel capacity. One of the most versatile reels I have had the pleasure of using.

I suggest getting the 8.1 gear ratio and using it for anything from finesse plastics to pitching up to 1/2oz Texas Rigs. The reel is also a skipping machine.

I would skip getting the 6.3 ratio. There is not enough line capacity for cranking. The 80mm handle would not be the best for cranking either. The shallow spool is nice for pitching and finesse techniques. More line capacity would be needed to use crankbaits and other long casting techniques.

Spool is 32mm. Compatible with Daiwa AIR reels (T3 AIR, SS AIR, Alphas AIR). Not compatible with other SS, T3 or other 1016 sized reels.

From Daiwa Japan Website:
"AIR concept that lightweight lure used in spinning tackle can handle comfortably with bait. It appeared epoch making event in talking about the history of bass fishing. 1/16 oz. Super high performance spool which also made it possible to lightly raise class rigs is a new way to memorize the enlargement of the area of cover fishing by enabling use of a line with a rank higher.
The other male who appeared after that, can not miss the SV concept's good progress. Lightweight lure around 5g 1oz. Big bait compatible width widened, comfort that realizes troubleless even in the headwind. It is no doubt that we continue to evolve further as we go through generations and have earned a high reputation for anglers who do everything with one unit.
"If we attack SV with contemporary technology, will not it be closer to AIR?"
"SV meets AIR". In 2018, the time has come when the two latest reel technologies boasted by DAIWA are right now to face each other. The proposal of Toshinari Namiki has taken a new step in the evolution of DAIWA reel.
"I want the advantage of SV while maintaining the characteristics of cast finish AIR and spool strength SV.AIR."
Spool is made of G1 duralumin 32 mm. The use of 20 lb. Of thick thread is also taken into consideration, and 80 liters of Fluoro is stored 80 m. Marked 30 m more than AIR.
"You can comfortably use from 4 g as much as AIR, and it is high priority that you can shoot without difficulties with the distance of 1.5 times the conventional distance."
3.5 to 5 g jig and 1/4 oz.Spinnerbait, etc. Recently we have been able to freely use the "interstitial" weight, evolving SV stepping into the area of AIR. AIR faction rank 1-2 ranking heavy lures and SV faction further to finesse.
Gear ratio is 6.3 of winding and 8.1 of shooting. The compatibility with Nishiki light-grade Versatile tire STEEZ machine gun cast 0.5 which is announced this season is outstanding. If it is combined with Blitz, it specializes in responding to small scrolls, and Harrier can win advantage by cover fishing.
"Increase the performance of the rod you have with the approach from reel."
Lead the time reliably. Here is the future of the next SV reel."
