Episode 28 is about converting an ATX power supply into a bench top power supply. Since it is one of our most popular videos, we receive a lot of questions on the subject. This video is a response to those questions.

The wire color codes for most ATX supplies are as follows:

Yellow = +12VDC
Red = +5VDC
Orange = +3.3VDC
Black = Negative / Ground
Blue = -12VDC
White = -5VDC
Green = Power Supply On (connect to switch)
Brown = +3.3VDC Sense (connect to +3.3VDC suppy)
Grey = Power Supply Good (connect to + of Green LED)
Purple = +5VDC Standby Power (connect to + of Orange LED and + of USB)

Your mileage may vary, please review the tech sheet for your individual PSU if in doubt. This will also show you the maximum current each voltage will produce.
