In my opinion, the best dart frog for most beginners is Epipedobates anthonyi. This wonderful little frog is a very fun species to keep and has many convenient advantages compared to some other species. They're hardy, easy to keep and breed, do well in groups and are cheap and readily available on the market. They also have a loud call, which I personally find very pleasant, but perhaps some of you will think it's a bit too loud...
