Sunan Kalijaga is one of the Wali Songo who comes from Tuban and is famous for spreading the teachings of Islam on the island of Java.

Sunan Kalijaga is the son of the Regent of Tuban named Tumenggung Wilatikta and his wife named Dewi Nawangrum.

He was born around 1450 AD from a noble family in Tuban with the real name Raden Said or Raden Sahid.

He also has several other names such as Lokajaya, Shaykh Malaya, Prince Tuban, Ki Dalang Sida Brangti, and Raden Abdurrahman.

Sunan Kudus became one of the members of Wali Songo who spread Islam in Java, precisely in Central Java and its surroundings.

He was born in Kudus in 1400 AD. Sunan Kudus lived in an era when the Hindu-Javanese kingdom was collapsing and Islam was just starting to spread in Java.

Sunan Kudus is the son of Habib Uthman Haji or better known as Sunan Ngudung.

His father is a son-in-law of Sunan Ampel. While his mother named Syarifah Ruhul or Dewi Ruhil, who is the younger brother of Sunan Bonang.

According to the genealogy of the Sunan Kudus family, he is the 10th descendant through the Husein route, the son of the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad's daughter, Siti Fatimah, to Sayyidina Ali Ra.
