Uproarious election aftermath chat & lighthearted analysis from the then king of politics Robin Day, camp as Christmas Norman St John Stevas, and hilarious drag-a-like Thatcher clone Dame Marcia Falkender.

This clip contains the actual moment Thatcher officially passes the winning post & becomes the next Prime Minister.

Quote of the day Robin to Norman "Now I just wanted to ask you, how do you think your talents, which are of course immeasurable... you can take that either way you like!

As a child I always found Norman SS quite 'interesting' and very theatrical. Here he's about as gay as you can get in a serious political interview from 1979 without actually getting up on the desk and giving his rendition of Doris Day's 'Secret Love' in a gingham pinafore!

Simon Hoggart noted in his Guardian obituary of Stevas:

"He lived in that period where gay politicians never came out, yet were happy for everyone to know. He lived life as a camp performance". Indeed he did.

Norman died in March 2012 from undisclosed causes, aged 82, RIP.

Enjoy!
