Toy companies keep raising prices on their 1/6 scale figures. It doesn't seem sustainable for the average consumer. The logical outcome of this process is that the average collector has to make selective purchases. The only possible good news on the horizon is that a number of 1/6 toy makers are trying to compete in the market now. Intuitively that means there will be more competition for the market and prices will move down. We have not seen that trend yet.

Other options exist like customizing 1/6 articulated figures or printing 3D resin statues/busts. On this channel, I customize. I will also start showing you more 3D resin prints that my husband will make. Here is his first 3D resin bust. We painted it with metallic silver and washed it in black. It came out wonderfully for our first bust in 1/6th scale. It cost under $23 to make.

It may take some work to learn how to do 3D resin prints, but it's not too bad according to my husband. The other option is buying from trusted 3D resin model sellers.

I think where the toy companies are going in terms of pricing figures now, we are already being more selective when we buy things, which means fewer purchased prepackaged figures sadly.

Of course, my favorite characters from the Avengers is Iron Man and Captain America. My husband is now working on a Captain America bust. I hope it can be finished soon.

Oh well. You have to do what you have to do right? Thus, I focus a lot on customizing figures or finding deals that work for me. Regardless, we will have a lot to think about in this community as time moves on. I don't have solid answers. I just know customizing figures, producing 3D resin prints, and looking for sales on boxed figures are my solution right now.

I certainly hope that toy companies do not price themselves out of a market.
