Here's an extended cut of my video from one of the most intense storm chases of my life, May 12, 2004, in Attica, Kansas. Dave Lewison was in my car, and Pete Ventre was driving Scott McPartland in Scott's car. We saw multiple tornadoes from up close, including one that destroyed a house (the occupants survived). We had a friend call emergency services on our behalf to help the people in the house, since it was unsafe for us to turn around as the storm moved and more tornadoes developed.
This raw video is interesting for its stressed-out dialogue as we try to avoid baseball hail, maintain position without getting too close, and narrowly miss two satellite tornadoes that briefly blocked our escape route.
