This MN128 Jeep really is an excellent base for a 1/12 crawler. Lots of metal upgrades available for the already establised MN86.
Although is very good standard, some lower down weight helps alot. This is where I had previously gone wrong on my MN86. Which will now have a comeback.
Upgrades so far.
540 35T injora motor. Needs to be short version to clear the body. Adaptors available on Amazon or Aliexpress for the 540 motor to the standard gearbox
Metal driveshafts
Aftermarket adjustable shocks
Metal 1.9 beadlock wheels
90mm Tyres. Not the softest or the best grip. But they look mean...!
Metal axle links
front axle moved 5mm forward to give tyre clearance. 3D printed spacers in the links to increase length
Metal sterring horn to replace servo saver. It 'saves' too much & then fouls the front bumper when the axle is moved.
Still standard ESC, servo & transmitter. They are pretty good out of the box. Best so far for MN models.
Lighting is still standard.
I bought a spare gearbox to make the motor swap quicker & easily reversed. Note that the slipper clutches are supplied loose. I tightened this one, but it still slipped on some climbs. Needs another tweek.
I was very impressed with this truck on this first run. I got loads of footage. So expect to see lots of this one & the grey Jeep soon.
Thanks for watching.
