Sabah Seamex Association(SSA)는 말레이시아 사바 주를 중심으로 전통 민속 무용을 선보이는 단체입니다. "바람 아래의 땅"이라는 별칭을 가진 사바 주는 다양한 민족과 자연 환경이 공존하는 지역으로, SSA는 이러한 다채로운 문화를 무용을 통해 표현하고 있습니다. SSA는 산악 지역 사람들, 숲 속 사람들, 바다 사람들 등 다양한 민족의 전통 무용을 선보이며, 특히 지역 문화를 바탕으로 한 창작 무용을 통해 그들의 전통을 현대적으로 재해석하고 있습니다. 또한, 국제적인 행사에도 활발히 참여해 말레이시아 문화를 세계에 알리고 있으며, 이번 공연에서는 탈춤 경연 대회에 맞춘 창작 무용을 선보일 예정입니다.

Sabah Seamex Association (SSA) is an organization that performs traditional folk dances centered around Sabah, Malaysia. Sabah, nicknamed “Land below the Wind,” is a region where diverse ethnic groups and natural environments coexist, and SSA expresses these diverse cultures through dance. SSA performs traditional dances of various ethnic groups, including mountain people, forest people, and sea people, and especially reinterprets their traditions in a modern way through creative dances based on local cultures. In addition, SSA actively participates in international events to promote Malaysian culture to the world, and in this performance, it will present creative dances that are tailored to the mask dance competition.

SSA’s performances are centered around the traditional dances of Sabah, Malaysia. They depict the lives and cultures of people living in different natural environments, such as mountain areas, forests, and the sea, through dance. They express their interactions with nature through their own unique dance movements and costumes, and you can catch a glimpse of Sabah’s diverse culture on stage. The newly created dances for the mask dance competition are contemporary interpretations of Sabah traditions, reflecting the theme of this festival and introducing the unique lifestyle of Sabah people.
