The Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery takes place every hour on the hour from October 1 to March 31, and every half hour from April 1 to September 30. The ceremony is a precise, elaborate ritual that involves soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, also known as "The Old Guard," relieving each other from their post. The Tomb Guards, also known as Sentinels, are chosen for this role after extensive training and exams. They have held this duty since 1948. Some say that the Changing of the Guard is a must-see experience.

We were fortunate to watch this ceremony in May, 2024, with my son's 8th grade class. I was proud of our kids, who showed much respect during the ceremony as is required of those who attend.

I did not add any voice over on this video as the original sounds you will hear, holds much meaning and speaks for itself. There were also a group of Honor Flight veterans there to watch the ceremony to the right of the video, many in wheel chairs. They were very moved and so was I.

If you have never gotten to experience this, I hope you enjoy this video. Please give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. God bless.
