The Mid-Hants Watercress Line held a Diesel Gala that was being held from Friday 12th July to Sunday 14th July 2024. My friend's invited me along to join them in a visit to the Diesel Gala starting from Alresford Railway Station and this video you are about to watch is from Saturday 13th July. We watched the arrivals and departures of some the the Diesel Locomotives at Alresford then after a while took a train ride as far as Ropley where we got off then watched the comings and goings at Ropley before boarding another train to Alton we stayed on board and returned back to Alresford where we got off. After a tiring but enjoyable day we headed for a pub where we had a meal and a pint which went very down well, all in all a brilliant day was had and that train ride was the first time I have taken a train on that line since about 1971 it brought back lots of memories from my younger days when I used to travel up and down from Southampton to Alton.
