On June 14, 2017, the same day Congressman Steve Scalise was shot playing baseball in Alexandria, Virginia, the Senate Homeland Security Committee held a hearing on Countering Violent Extremism. Ron Johnson (R, Wisconsin) chaired. Five Democrat senators ignored the two most important speakers, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Asra Nomani, each raised Muslim (Ali in Somalia, Nomani in India). Both lost friends to Islamic terror.

Democrats preferred Bush/Obama National Counterterrorism Center Director Michael Leiter, who said there are no European no-go zones!

The hearing ran 2 hours, 3 minutes. Johnson and Steve Daines (R, Montana) were the only senators to question Ali and Nomani.

This cut is less than an hour. It deletes all 5 Democrats, most of Leiter and instead focuses on Ali, Nomani and President Reagan's Soviet affairs advisor, John Lenczowski.
