Here is my attempt at installing a Gel seat onto a Ninja 1000. The Z1000 shares the seat and most bikes can use this install method.

I have put on about 500km with it and am satisfied with the results. The pressure points have been reduced. I can ride for several hours without the pain proving the Gel is doing its job. The profile carved into the seat is excellent. No more sliding forward. You could do the sculpting and top with smoothing foam if you didn't want to install the Gel.
