Commedia dal buon ritmo narrativo firmata dal trio Girolami-Marchesi-Metz ma è facile presumere che solo il primo fosse il regista vero del film. La storia risulta oggi forse esile e scontata ma va rilevato che il vero sfondo della vicenda sia di tipo erotico e psicanalitico. Personaggio centrale è Walter/Walter Chiari il quale perseguita in sogno il povero commendator Fernando (Carlo Campanini), ma un ruolo interessante è quello del dott. Furgoni (Enrico Viarisio) il quale appunto interpreta il senso di colpa e i risvolti erotici dei sogni del Commendatore. Il nome del personaggio, fra l'altro è comicamente rivelatorio di un certo Dottor Frugoni che pare ebbe in cura Mussolini e Togliatti. Questo contesto apertamente sensuale e ose', per l'epoca, è anche quello che tutto sommato giustifica le presenze della Pampanini (che recita sé stessa), della Barzizza e persino della giovane Sophia Loren (nei titoli come Sofia Lazzaro) che appare brevemente nelle scene delle odalische e delle indossatrici. La stessa scena delle odalische fu girata per il solo mercato francese con le attrici che potevano apparire a seno nudo dato che le regole della censura lo permettevano.

Comedy from the trio Girolami-Marchesi-Metz but it is easy to assume that only the former was the true director of the film. The story is perhaps thin and obvious today but it should be noted that the true background of the story is of an erotic and psychoanalytic type. The central character is Walter/Walter Chiari who persecutes the poor Commendator Fernando (Carlo Campanini) in dreams, but an interesting role is played by dr. Furgoni (Enrico Viarisio) who precisely interprets the sense of guilt and the erotic implications of the repressed dreams of the Commendatore. The name of the character, among other things, is comically revealing of a certain Doctor Frugoni who treated Mussolini and Togliatti. This openly sensual and daring context, for the time, is also the one that justifies the presence in the movie of Pampanini, Barzizza and especially Sophia Loren (in the titles credited as Sofia Lazzaro), who appears briefly in the scene of the odalisques. This same scene was filmed for the French market only with the actresses being able to appear topless.
The movie has never appeared with English subtitles and is, at the moment, not commercially distributed.
