Happy 90th birthday Dov (Dubi) Seltzer
90 years ago today, Dov Seltzer was born in Iaşi, Romania.
His talent was already prominent as a child on the stages of Bucharest. Seltzer passed the war years in Romania, boarded a ship of illegal immigrants to Palestine, was expelled by the British to a detention camp in Cyprus and eventually immigrated to Israel.
Here he became one of the most prolific, versatile and widely recognized composers in the field of Israeli song, and countless works that comprise the Israeli soundtrack bear his name.
For his birthday, Yehoram Gaon performs the song "Yesh Makom" ("There is a place"), from the musical Kasablan, arranged and conducted by Yaron Gottfried, from a special concert with the Israel Philharmonic at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in December 2017.
Happy birthday, Dubi, wishing you health and lots of happiness!
