Cognac is the only other drink that sits with whisky in this parlour of luxury, but in all honesty, is it as good?

There are so many strict applications to the production of Cognac, some of them are remarkably interesting and could have benefits in other spirit categories. Others, however, seem to be very contradictory to the whole process of creating a complex and possibly otherworldly level spirit that can destroy anything in else in the same price and style category.

I want to like Cognac, I honestly do, and this is the start of a discussion about what Coganc/Armagnac/Brandy to look out for in this wonderful world of choice we have at our feet.

Hennessy XO has its own cult status in the world of spirits, but for the price does it stand up against its rivals?
