An introduction to the first ever human powered Sky bike; an incredible innovation in sports aviation.
This video is my latest attempt in 15 knots of coastal wind and you will notice that I have full control i.e. I'm not blown over backwards, even though the wind was very strong.
I managed to achieve enough lift to get off the ground briefly. Having built this human powered ornithopter myself, I hope to soon be able to soar through the sky like an eagle!
The wings are modified from a Wills Wing hang glider and steel cables are taking the weight....not my arms. I have independent and collective sweep and angle of attack control of the articulated wings with my arms. This proved to be quite intuitive and much easier than I expected. Furthermore, the aircraft displayed both static as well as dynamic stability.
Feel free to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, comment if you have any questions or ideas, and don't forget to subscribe for more updates on this exciting world record attempt!
