First let me say, no words will offer enough comfort to the loss of a loved one due to crossbow or any other manner and my deepest condolences at this time.

Folks, crossbows ,in the UK are for sporting purposes ie target shooting only!
I don't as a rule mention anything regarding self defence or hunting as it's illegal.

The consultation on crossbow bows was undertaken early this year with no decision made, now government and a new tragedy a decision WILL be made now in my opinion and if I had to guess it will probably be a poorly implemented license program.
I am ALL for responsible controlls on any potential dangerous items but caution it must be taken with the context and number of events.
