In Gwen's defense, she did say in the first movie she doesn't have any friends.

And in this movie she proves why. I don't know how Miles got up from all the buses she threw him under in this one. I knew she had done my man Mile's wrong plenty of times, but after making a more precise list.....I'm like....damn!

I know Gwen is running from her own problems and has anger issues on top of that, but damn......

Could she have dug that knife in any deeper?

Now we can debate whether all of these scenes listed would be considered a backstab, but even just two of these scenes is enough.

And for those of you shipping Miles and Stacy and thinking it was cute for her to wear his jacket?

She was wearing Spider-Punk's shoes too!

I don't think she was ever into Miles that way. She was, just like Peter said, drawn to his innocence and goodness, because her own outlook and everyone in the Spider-Society she chose to associate with was so cynical and filled with hidden agendas. Miles was an open book of kindness, which she took advantage of numerous times. And poor Miles was blinded by friendship, not realizing the people he thought were his friends had been sold him out so they could apart of the Spider-Society.

Now are our man Miles eyes are open. A hard lesson. But one he had to learn.

You may say Gwen came around, but it was only after she got the boot from the Society because her usefulness in manipulating Miles was gone. The irony being she was surprised she got thrown under the bus after throwing Mile's under the bus so many times.

Maybe they can re-establish some kind of working relationship in the next movie to fight the Spot, but that place of innocence that puppy love was coming from is dead.

I don't hate Gwen since she was in a hard place herself, but we gotta keep it 100. She's a toxically bad friend.

Some key considerations come to mind

This was a dark part of Gwen's hero's journey that she needs to come out on the other end into the light on. But even with some form of reconciliation in the next movie, what form of relationship can you have with a girl that sided with the people that were basically trying to mob you to prevent you from trying to save your father? Even if there is forgiveness of a sort in the next movie, something like that is something you never forget.

Was it cruel for Gwen to come back into his life knowing she was just going to leap right back out of it and never see him again, basically re-opening a wound that was just starting to heal? Intention wise, I think it would have been far kinder to just never see him again and let him move on with his life.

If Gwen had just told him some of the truth, like just told him the leadership of the Society didn't like him because they blamed him for the collider incident and that she was on covert mission she couldn't really discuss and could only have very limited contact with him, would that have softened the blow and at least let them maintain some integrity in their relationship. And I must acknowledge that Miles himself bears some responsibility for allowing her to evade his question 3 times, even though he must have known deep down that she wasn't really there just to see him. But he allowed himself to be led around by her anyway, and for her to walk all over him. I hope if they reconcile we see a Miles that just doesn't let her walk all over him.

Do you Miles\Gwen shipper believe a romantic relationship for them is endgame? In addition the their broken relationship and their young ages for a sony film, as well as the fact that she laughed at his pictures in his sketchbook, I'm not foreseeing any romantic future for them. Do you think a romance between is still possible with such broken trust? If so, how?

I don't see them being any thing besides a working crime fighting relationship.
