#Walter Trier (1890–1951) was a German-Czech illustrator, cartoonist, and artist, whose work left an indelible mark on 20th-century visual culture, particularly in children's literature and satirical illustration. Born on June 25, 1890, in Prague, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Trier’s creative journey began early, demonstrating a natural talent for drawing that would define his career.

Early Life and Education
Trier was born into a Jewish family, which fostered his early interest in the arts. His father, a textile merchant, was supportive of his artistic ambitions. Trier attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he honed his skills in drawing and illustration. His early works were heavily influenced by the art movements of the time, particularly Art Nouveau, which was popular in Central Europe. After completing his studies in Prague, Trier moved to Munich, where he continued his education at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.
