51Fest: The Female Majority on Screen

Join us to celebrate the female majority at the first-ever 51Fest – a film festival presented by Women in the World and the IFC Center. While the films may differ by genre and country of origin, they’re united by one thing: all put women in their rightful place at the center of the story.

From July 18th - 21st we’ll be hosting 11 premieres and previews, including the first New York showing of After the Wedding starring Julianne Moore, For Sama, the powerful documentary about the Syrian war that took home the top prize at Cannes this year, and A Hell of A Story – an all-access adventure into how comedian Kathy Griffin’s life changed after that Trump photo.

And because this is Women in the World, you know there’s no way we’re letting you or our special guests leave without a righteous discussion. Each film will be followed by a post-screening conversation with its stars, directors, and experts on the subjects at hand including Julianne Moore, Kathy Griffin, Cecile Richards, HuffPost editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen, Dr. Hamza al-Kateab, and so many other heroes of ours.
