The Chirp Scratch is a simple and easy scratch that can sound really good and impressive once mastered.
Due to it being so easy to do, taking this scratch to a high-level by doing it double time, triple time or quadruple time is what most Scratch DJ’s do with this scratch. And to make it sound even better, Scratch DJ’s alter the pitch on how they push and pull the platter. This gives this scratch a lot more room to be expressive and funky.
Don’t be too pressured to jump ahead and go double time though. Sounding clean is better than sounding fast in the long run.
So take your time and focus on the fundamentals.

SCRIPT:
Now the chirp scratch is a fun and easy scratch to do. What I like most about it is that it can sound really good once you've mastered it.
For you guys who wanna practice this, don't worry. I gotchu. All the samples and instrumentals used in this video are available for download in the description below.
So here are the steps in how to do the chirp scratch
Step 1
Position the crossfader on the on position. So in our case thats anywhere but the edges
Step 2
With your sample ready. Position your platter hand right before the start of the sample.
Now we are ready to do the scratch
Step 3
At the same time push the platter forward and bring the crossfader to the closed position .
So in our case I scratch with my right hand on the platter and so my crossfaders off position is all the way to the left side, if you scratch with your left hand on the platter it will bee the opposite
Step 4
At the same time again, pull back the platter to where you started and bring the crossfader from the off position back the on position
