This is the cheapest and the most local way to reach Manali from Shimla. This is Episode 6 of my Himachal Bangla Travel Series.
In this video, I will show you my HRTC ordinary bus journey or rather local bus adventure from Shimla to Manali. I feel this is the cheapest and best way to reach Manali from Shimla ISBT Tutikandi bus stand. The ticket price is Rs. 572 (inclusive of all taxes/charges) and it took us almost 10 hours to complete the whole journey! HRTC or Himachal Road Transport Corporation operates ordinary buses in the Shimla to Manali route. There are other ways to travel from Shimla to Manali like taking a taxi, which will cost you around Rs. 5000-7000. HRTC buses are not that great, and they are ordinary ones - no reclining seats, no AC, hard seats. But at Rs. 572, that is expected. I will also show you the HRTC bus timings and condition of the buses. So, at-last I have completed my Shimla Tour and moving on to Manali.
