This video gives an overview of a 1956 Jaguar XK1450 SE/MC Roadster project that is currently available for sale from Monocoque Metalworks. This is a GREAT project car - it is complete, numbers-matching, and in a very good overall condition for restoration. It was built in December of 1955, and was originally exported to the US, in Black exterior and a Black interior with white piping.

This is an SE (Special Equipment) car - also known as an “MC” - it has the "Type C" engine with more horsepower, an Overdrive gearbox - and it is also a close-ratio gearbox. This is “the best of the best” as far as XK140’s go! This car is complete, and is a fully matching numbers example - the engine and gearbox are the originals delivered with this car from the factory, and are both free and good restorable units.

The car has been off the road for 47 years, and has been in dry storage for the past 45 years inside of a large enclosed antique truck body. The car was partially disassembled for a repaint and a valve job, and then the project was stalled as so often happens while life gets in the way... We have carefully re-assembled the car so that it can be safely shipped to it's new owner.

We have TWO Heritage certificates from Jaguar for this project! The first is an older, hand-written certificate from 1977 that did not include the gearbox number. The second is a recent example that I requested to confirm that the gearbox is also the original unit, which it is.
