Ho avuto un’esperienza davvero particolare con il nuovo DJI Neo. Dopo averlo aspettato con grande entusiasmo, finalmente ho avuto l’occasione di provarlo. Le prime impressioni erano fantastiche: maneggevole, abbastanza preciso nei movimenti, e con una qualità video buona, il drone quasi tascabile per chi, ama esplorare nuovi orizzonti con una telecamera dall'alto senza portare dietro troppo peso.

Tuttavia, in un paio di occasioni le cose hanno preso una piega inaspettata. Mentre stavo volando, tutto procedeva senza intoppi fino a un certo punto quando, all’improvviso, il drone ha cominciato a comportarsi in modo strano. Ho perso il controllo per qualche istante, ma pensavo che potesse essere un semplice ritardo nella risposta del controller. Invece, il DJI Neo ha iniziato a seguire traiettorie autonome, senza che io avessi impartito alcun comando. Sembrava avere una volontà propria, come se avesse deciso di esplorare il cielo da solo.

Ogni tentativo di riprendere il controllo è stato inutile. Nonostante i miei sforzi, il drone continuava a muoversi autonomamente, ignorando ogni input dal controller. E poi, prima che potessi fare qualcosa, l'inevitabile: si è schiantato.
Questi inconvenienti mi hanno lasciato un po' amareggiato. Il DJI Neo, per quanto promettente e tecnologicamente avanzato, sembra avere ancora qualche aspetto immaturo da perfezionare, spero solo a livello software. Sicuramente un comportamento anomalo del genere non è quello che ci si aspetta da un drone, anche se "economico"!

I had a very special experience with the new DJI Neo. After waiting for it with great enthusiasm, I finally had the chance to try it out. First impressions were great: maneuverable, quite precise in movements, and with good video quality, the almost pocket-sized drone for those who, like to explore new horizons with a camera from above without carrying too much weight.

However, on a couple of occasions things took an unexpected turn. While I was flying, everything was going smoothly until a certain point when, all of a sudden, the drone started to behave strangely. I lost control for a few moments, but I thought it might be a simple delay in the controller's response. Instead, the DJI Neo started to follow autonomous trajectories, without me giving any command. It seemed to have a will of its own, as if it had decided to explore the sky on its own.

Every attempt to regain control was futile. Despite my efforts, the drone kept moving autonomously, ignoring any input from the controller. And then, before I could do anything, the inevitable: it crashed.
These mishaps left me a little bitter. The DJI Neo, as promising and technologically advanced as it is, still seems to have some immature aspects to perfect, hopefully only at the software level. Surely such abnormal behavior is not what one expects from a drone, even a “cheap” one!
