Who are the modern American Vikings? Today let's discuss a region of the United States and Canada that has been dubbed "Scandimerica" clearly a nod to the area's heavy Scandinavian heritage and influence, having the largest number and percentage of people of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic descent in the world outside of Europe.

Although the Greenlandic Vikings may have failed in their endeavors to conquer the mainland of America, their distant Scandinavian cousins made somewhat of a home for themselves out in the middle of nowhere.
