OKAY so this is one of those characters that i can't help but both love and hate at the same time because like he's a douchebag BUT i kinda feel a bit sorry for him, and i think the reason he's such a dickhead is because he's angry at his dad for treating him that way, but can't take it out on him and takes i out on literally anyone else around him - especially max?? and if i'm being honest i kiiinda think he COULD BE a nice person because in that scene where max talked to lucas at her house, and that mormons thing, it seemed that he wanted to laugh but kept it in? and since i'm 24/7 on tumblr i've seen that everyone seems to conclude that he's racist because of his hatred towards lucas, i kinda agree and disagree at the same time because i think that maybe he's just mad that maxine seems to succeed in life? oh god this character is so strange and i can't seem to figure him out and that k i l l s me
