Los Angeles Dodgers 9 at New York Yankees 2, F -- Game 6 brought the series back to Yankee Stadium, where the Yankees, down three games to two in the series, were desperate for a win. With the game tied in the fourth, Yankees Manager Bob Lemon made the controversial call to pinch hit Bobby Murcer for pitcher Tommy John. Murcer would not help the Yankees during his at-bat, and the bullpen would cause the Yankees to crumble as the Dodgers scored eight more runs in the game. The Dodgers won their first World Series title since 1965.
