Alfred's Adventure on Game Boy Color at first appears to simply be a colorized remake of the original Game Boy version of Alfred Chicken (   • Alfred Chicken (Game Boy) Playthrough  , but a look below the surface shows some interesting differences.

For starters, the presentation has been improved and there is a new password feature so you don't need to start from the beginning every time you play this. You can also replay earlier stages to find any watering cans you previously missed. There's also some pretty interesting use of CGI, not exactly necessary but interesting to look at.

There are also some slight level design changes with some new hidden areas and watering can placements.

However, it's fair to say that this game gives with one hand and takes away with the other because a number of features from the original Game Boy version are absent. There are no jam jar power-ups for shooting anymore and the boss battles have been removed.

It's still a good game, but I would consider it fair to say that the original Game Boy version is still the better way to play as it has all the features and works on the Game Boy Color too (providing it's own color graphics like with other black and white Game Boy games played on the Game Boy Color).
