Catching lots of Halibut is an ocean fishing video I filmed while float tube fishing the ocean. it was an epic, wide-open California Halibut bite that was the best bite I've seen in 10 years. What a great time California Halibut fishing! I went 6 for 8 on the Halibut, including 4 legal fish. I also missed two other legal Halibut and I caught a couple of shorts in there and also. I missed about a 30 to 35 pound White Seabass that steam-rolled me into a deep kelp forest. I also caught my personal best Grass Rockfish! I had three-dozen short-bites and other pecks that bit like White Seabass? I guess I will never know?. My fishing buddies Matt O' Neil and Jeff Weight also got into the action all catching several Halibut including a legal by Matt. What a great, great trip amongst my fishing friends! My legal Halibut were 25 inches, 25.5 inches, 26 inches, and 27.25 inches! I tried very hard to catch the fifth, but after traveling about 5 miles on the tube I was out of gas and could hardly move my legs or arms anymore. I nearly got my fifth legal Halibut on my very last bait! There's nothing on Earth like fishing the ocean from my Outcast Fat Cat Float Tube! We had prime Topsmelt bait, but we all ran out of bait!
