Ezhuthari Nathar Shiva Temple| Innambur |Padal Petra Sthalam| (எழுத்தறிநாதர் கோவில் திருஇன்னாம்பர்)

This temple is located at Innambur at about 8 kms from Kumbakonam on the Thirupurambiyam route.
Ezhuttarinatheswarar, Iravatheswarar
Ambal: Nityakalyani, Sugandha kunthalambikai, Soundera nayaki
Theertham:Airavatha theertham
Temple Tree: Senpagam (Champac, Michelia Champaca), Pala (Jack fruit, Artocarpus integrifolia).
Temple Puranam:
It is believed that Sage Agastya worshipped Siva and learnt the exposition of tamil language grammar from the Swami. It is also the sthala where Siva, in the guise of an accountant, submitted the temple accounts to a king.
Special Features:
1. The elephant Airavata offered worship in this sthala.
2. The temple has a five-tiered goupram.
3. There are two Ambal shrines in this temple.
4. The temple has a Gajaprashta vimana (in the shape of elephant’s back).
5. The idols of Vinayaka, Subramanya, Surya, Chandra and Navagrahas are found in the circumambulatory passage.
6. In one of the pillars, the sculpture of Nardana Vinayaka (dancing posture) is found.
7. The entrance to the sanctum and the Sivalingam are huge and the Natarajar image is of great workmanship
8. One among the Bhaskara sthalam where Sun has worshipped the Lord.
9. This temple is also famous for initiating a child’s education for the first time. A layer of paddy is spread on the floor before the lord and the first letters are initiated for the child. Worshipping here gives good education and knowledge growth.
