It’s actually a friend of mine who bought it!

Akiya houses have become so popular among foreigners but it’s not so easy to get one for so many reasons that we can talk about in another video.

What I can say is that my friend visited so many Akiya that were in really bad shape. There are thousands of Akiya online for as cheap as 2 to 3 million yen but the repairs would cost you a few time the amount of the purchase.

Also Akiya are usually located in the countryside. So it takes time to get there. Don’t dream about finding one around Tokyo for 3 or 4 million yen, because such houses simply don’t exist.

My friend was lucky enough to find this gem. But there were many many disappointments and bad experiences before that. We could not believe the house would really become my friend’s property until the papers were signed for good.

Now that said… if that’s really your dream to get one, and persevere, I am sure that you can find your dream house here!
